Case study - Gizmondo forums
Gizmondoforums was a side project from websites for me. It started from a small idea to have a well featured message board. Within a very small fan-base for an up-and-coming handheld gaming console, "the Gizmondo". Unlike the console this message board has thrived for over 3 years and has nearly 3,000 members. This site has a very tight community of people throughout the world.
When Gizmondo was about, the site had close ties with the actual company obtaining exclusive information and media which we presented to our members. On many occasions we published information when we received it. The greatest achievement was to be invited to E3 in Los Angeles in America, an exhausting 3-day event with all the latest gaming information by all the big companies.
Although the company has gone into bankruptcy Gizmondoforums is still there for its fans. The console was released with very little in the form of software so people from all around the world cracked the Gizmondo open to allow any programmer to write games and software for it.
